Tip of the Week: Want to eat healthy and oil-free at a restaurant? Order a salad and steamed vegetables, without dressing, and pack your own additional toppings and dressing in your purse or backpack. Sometimes restaurants will frown upon outside food, but if they can't accomadate your diet then you have no choice. I've done this lots of times and it's never been an issue. I typically pack tofu cubes and nuts/seeds and a little bottle of balsamic vinegar.
Do you want to try a whole-foods, plant-based (vegan) diet but aren't sure where to begin? Check out this free downloadable vegan starter kit from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
